Love Dollar Items!!

Like so many of us these days, I love a good buy.  One of my favorite places to look is the dollar bins in most of the craft stores in my area.  I found some cute stamps just $1.00 each.  Before I buy a stamp, I usually have an idea of what I'll be creating.  I like doing kids cards and my last set sold in 2 days!!
Another good deal I found recently is with Michaels Craft Store.  I buy bulk in some items, and now they offer a discount for items purchased in larger quantities.  I just got a lot of kraft paper and stickers I use in my top selling checkbook cover.  I saved nearly $20!!

I don't usually include instructions on my cards, but if anyone would like details,I would be glad to provide them.  The cards I did today were made with the kraft paper and new stamps I bought.
Hope you enjoy them.

Simple and Sweet

A fast post today.  I cleared out all the stuff I'm not using on a daily or weekly basis in my craft room.

Now I can really see what I have.  I decided to open a package of butterfly stamps I got and I picked a simple background stamp.  I love chalk inks and decided to make a set of thank you cards.  I then got my thank you greetings together.  I was amazed how quickly I was able to come up with designs and create a set of 5 cards.  Hope you enjoy them.

Out with the Old - in with the New

Happy New Years!!  I am not one for making resolutions, but I have decided that for 2012 I will allow myself creative freedom.  I'll let my inspirations take me where they will, and I will not let the critical Virgo ego, squash my ideas like a bug.  I am mine own worst critic and a perfectionist - not a match made in heaven.  I've decided for 2012 I will let my inner artist outside of the box.  If she does something I don't normally do RIGHT ON!!  I am the only one who grades my work and I am very stingy with A's.

I decided to take a fresh look at some cards I made in the past and breathe some new life and updates into the greeting card design.  Nothing drastic or huge, just a few tweaks to give my card some pizazz!!

Here is the old one - not a bad card, but I wanted to give it some 2012 magic.
I just attached the card to a white card base with rounded corners.  I then switched out the sentiment and added an attractive new label.  Onto the label, I added a few red pearls.  Now good has become better.  For the background I used a red glossy card and sprayed it with a white webbing spray.
