ART JOURNAL PAGES

The background of the journal pages was creating
by spraying purple, turquoise and blue dylusion inks.
I used Tim Holtz's splatter stencil with modeling
paste to give some texture and interest to the pages.

I stamped a spatter dot with a stamp using purple
archival ink.  The border was created by cutting
a handmade stencil and adding black acrylic paint with a
makeup sponge.

I used a stencil to create the circles and then used a
charcoal pencil with a stump tool to smudge.  I
drew and hand cut the butterflies using scraps
I had from some mixed media pages I created.

MIXED MEDIA BUTTERFLY CANVAS

I love creating mixed media using paints, stencils,
modelling paste, stamps and markers.

I created a background with 3 different
blue shades of acrylic paint.  I then added
modelling paste with a stencil to add some dimension.
I also stamped some script using blue archival ink.

I stamped the butterflies with Ranger Black archival ink and then
added different colors acrylic paints in reds, oranges and yellow.

Using some new stamps I picked up recently.  I stamped
the poinsettias with versamark ink and gold embossing
powder.  The background is embossed with a holly
leaf pattern.  I used alcohol markers to colors
the flowers and leaves.  The sentment is
stamped onto vellum and embossed with old.
I used gold coated paper to add a really
elegant touch.

EASTER CARDS

I love making Easter cards in the lovely spring pastel colors that always
remind me of a child at Easter with our cute little Easter dresses and hats.
I miss those days of childhood innocence and simplicity.

First card is a fun shaker card.  I added some flower and chick sequins
along with pastel seed beads and chunky glitter.  The die cut bunnies
are from Impression Obsession.  Aren't they adorable?

I recently purchased some Nuevo Glitter Paste.  I love using this with stencils.
To create the background on this card I used the glitter paste with
a diamond patterned stencil.  I embossed the eggs and created some
Easter grass out of green card stock.  I layered the grass with
dimensional tape so I could add the eggs in between.

My last card background I used an embossing folder and distress inks.
I stamped and colored the cross and flowers with markers and pencils.
I added a little stickles glitter glue on the yellow buds.

Decided to play with some embossing folders and distress inks today.
I like the way the colors resemble a rust look.  I had some chipboard
and metal gears.

I have been working on some masculine cards since I tend to
do a lot of flowers and butterflies.

For this card I used embossing powders in copper, silver and gold.
I first dry embossed the watches on a piece of cardstock.

100 Day Creative Challenge beginning January 1!

Here are my first three days of creative challenges.  I'm hoping to keep myself
creatively challenged for the first 100 days of 2017.   I'll be making cards, tags,
mixed media, altered boxes -whatever I dream of.

Day 1 was Valentine tags using card stock, paper, die cuts
and ink.

Day 2 I made Valentine favor bags using some
polka dotted bags I had left in my stash.
I die cut hearts and embossed with swirls.
A nice paper doily and an embossed
greeting finish off the bag.

Day 3 is a Valentine card using white embossed
french script and distress inks.  A few sequins and a ribbon
for embellishment.
